The Islander Bar in Hessel

The food was excellent and good service, however the workers were not wearing masks. Some of the customers wouldn't walk in with them either.

Good food. POOR service.Blue cheese burger was fantastic but it woulda been nice if my waitress would of given us drinks. My waitress took our order and brought our bill, we had to flag others down for drinks ect. Another waitress brought our food after it sat in the window for 10 min.

Was a great stop. A must stop for a bite to eat or a drink. Very cool interior

This is one of the best places in the area for getting together with friends. The service and food and drink is always good.

Great place .Very good food. I had the pike tacos, excellent. My husband had the asian wrap he said it was the best .Tetiana was the best. She was the only one working and the place was packed . What a great job she did . We will be back.

Always swing in here when we are done boating. Great cold beer and well mixed drinks. Food is good, salads were especially good. We sat on the patio and it was very pleasant on a hot day.

One of the last real yooper bars in the UP. You can spend a day just checking out the antiques from the area that adorn the walls. Great food great people. If you visit the Eastern Upper Peninsula and don't stop here you really missed out.

We visited this place on a Sunday night and there weren't very many people there. The service was good and the food was excellent.

Excellent food at good prices. I highly recommend the perch and pike baskets ( the combo is plenty for 2 to share) and fish tacos. Good beer selection and creative mixed drinks. Their bloody Mary is the best around and they spice it up nicely when asked.Service is good. Atmosphere is nice.Always a good experience.

Hessel is a great town on Lake Huron. The Islander Bar is a super cool local place to hangout with family and/or friends within a one minute walk from the public dock! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!

Cozy casual place to grab a bite to eat. Good menu selection. We like to sit on the screened in porch. Burgers, salads are good, reasonable prices. Hot popcorn to munch on while you are waiting for your food. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but if you are not in a hurry, it's a great place to grab a meal.

This bar is an awesome place to hang out on the occasional weekend night. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and they have some great live bands here. The service can really lack on weekends, as they usually only have a couple people working which can make for a long wait to place and receive an order. The only bad thing I have to say about the service though is that sometimes, more often than not, the mixed drinks are pretty weak. I myself am a VERY occasional drinker and when I do drink I always order Vodka & cranberry.. and I can rarely taste the alcohol in it.

They have decent priced drinks. The waitstaff was very nice and polite. They also have activities like bingo to win half off your drinks and more. One of the few places around to play pool at too. It's right off the docks too so you can spend all day in the water and your night at the bar.

Lunch time on a Tuesday in early June the waitress was cool and the food was great if you are in the area it is worth the stop. Take time to check out all the pictures and things.
